There is a key principle that I believe passionately in is that the most effective way to create success is to model something similar, my rationale being that the more we pursue a goal the greater the chance is that we will achieve that goal. This principle is taken from the law of concentrated attention established by Emile Coue, one of the pioneers of 19th century hypnotherapy.
On Sunday 5th February I found this article on the BBC website that made my blood boil.
The head teacher (Ms Hanbury) at this school believes that she will prepare the students for success better by showing them the risks and pitfalls of failure and by knowing what failure feels like they will be better prepared for it, and, it’s ok to fail. That in my professional opinion portably the worst srtategy that could ever be adopted and one that is sure to engender failure within the students.
Many people have a history of un-achieved goals, unrealised ambitions and disappointment. One of the key reasons for this is that they leave the definition and achievement of their goals to chance and have no process to follow to make sure that they achieve their goals consistently. Here are seven steps to follow that will take the chance and luck out of your success.
#1 - State it in the positive.
#2 - Specify the present situation.
